“Slag it!” Prowl swore as he tried to get up. “He got away!”

“What should we do now then? Go after him?” Sides asked as he and Bee helped steady Prowl. Lepa shook her head.

“As much as this pains me to say it, we need to go back to base and radio what happened to Dad.” She stated quickly as she did a quick check over Prowl’s wound. “And get Ratchet to fix up Princess here.”

“Even now you have to call me that?”

“Always,”

“Wait so we’re just leaving them at the hands of the Cons?!” Jazz exclaimed. “They just took our friends!”

“Yeah,” Sunny continued. “And one we’ve just seen for 2 minutes after three long earth days!”

“Jazz, Sunny, think about it,” Alex started, “this isn’t the first time one of us had been captured; we know how to handle it and we know to be prepared for anything.”

“Which is all the better reason to go back to base,” Lepa commented again as she turned.

“We should be getting a call soon.”

~*~*~*~*~

“Oww….OK whatever that was that knocked me out, it REALLY hurt…” Rox groaned as she slowly got up. “Where in primus am I anyway?” she asked groggily as she looked around.

“In our cell as a hostage, fleshing,”

Rox turned quickly and saw Starscream at the cell door, grinning smugly. Rox glared at him.

“Now I remember, you and your squeaky voice came outta no where and took me and Maya away from everyone else!” she said angrily.

Starscream glared at her. “My voice chip is perfectly fine and NOT squeaky [A/N: YES it is screamer >>;] you ignorant little human!”

Rox laughed. “Have you heard yourself lately? Maya totally hit the head of the nail when she called your voice a ‘squeaky chew toy’,” she concluded before looking around the cell.

“Speaking of, where is she?”

“You puny human I should’ve blasted you when I had the chance,” he growled. “As for your friend,” he started, his smug face reappearing, “I’m afraid she is located in another area right now…”

Rox glared at him as she grabbed the cell bars. “Where is she?! If she’s hurt—” she yelped as she let go of the bars. She looked at her hands to see that they were burnt.

“I’d be careful about what you touch in here,” the Seeker grinned as he turned away. “We’ve gotten a couple of upgrades thanks to the suggestions of…a new member,” he laughed wickedly as he left her to her thoughts.

‘A new member? That’s not good…’ Rox thought as she blew on her hands. ‘This guy must be pretty smart and be able to benefit the Cons if Megatron is letting him in. And the worse part is we don’t know who he is, or how he looks…’

Rox checked around. No Cons anywhere near her. She grinned as she pulled out her cell phone.

“No matter how many times they try to take it, I’ve still got another on me,” she grinned as she began to dial Lepa’s number.

~*~*~*~*~

“I told you she had another. This girl is clever.”

“Humph. So she did,” Starscream mumbled as he stared blankly at the screen. “Will this really work?”

“Don’t underestimate me Starscream; I know what I’m doing…”

~*~*~*~*~

“Ouch Ratchet!”

“Well if you stopped squirming then maybe it won’t hurt so much! Now stay still Prowl before I do some real damage!” Ratchet barked at Prowl. He sighed as he lay back down on the bed. He was getting fixed from that shot Starscream fired at him before taking off with both Rox and Maya. His hand clenched into a fist subconsciously. He had let Starscream get away with them, and they were on his shoulder. Why didn’t he do something to save them?

‘Slag…’ he thought furiously as Ratchet continued his work.

“Looks like Prowl’s beating himself up huh?” asked Sides. He and his twin were watching as he was getting fixed through the window. He and Jazz had brought him into the medic’s room when they got back and now waited for the expected call.

“He must be they were on his shoulder,” Sunny pointed out. Alex shook her head.

“But it wasn’t his fault; it could have happened to anyone,” she stated.

“Yeah, but knowing Prowl, he’s still gonna blame himself,” Jazz concluded as he slumped in his chair.

“Princess is just taking it too hard to heart…” mumbled Lepa. She sat next to Bee and kept look at her cell. Bee wrapped an arm around her.

“He’s not the only one; you’ve have at least flipped your phone out like 17 times,” he said quietly. Lepa huffed and looked down to the floor.

“Like Alex said, it could have happened to anyone. And it’s not anyone’s fault, especially not you,” he replied carefully. The last thing he wanted was to upset his girlfriend.

“Yeah well it was my—” she was cut off when she phone started to ring. She quickly flipped it and answered.

“Rox? Is that you?”

“Nah, its Sherlock Holmes. Of course it’s me! Who else would call?”

“Finally you called! Man you take forever! Oh hold on let me put you on speaker,” Lepa quickly pressed the speaker button as the others came closer after hearing her.

“Well excuse me for being out cold for a long time!” Rox said irritably over the phone.

“Nevermind; we’re just glad you’re OK,” exclaimed Alex. “Is Maya OK?”

“I don’t know she’s not here.”

“WHAT?!”

“I don’t know why she isn’t here I just know that she’s in some other ‘area’ as that slagging Starscream puts it,” Rox growled.

“Do you know where you are?” asked Sides.

“Not exactly but I think I see sand so I’m guessing either it’s from a beach or the desert.” She replied looking at the floor.

“Well that helps,” Alex replied sarcastically.

“Hey at least I could call!”

“Sooooo?”

“So?? So can’t you home in on its signal and FIND me?!” she exclaimed.

“Right; good idea. We’ll get right on that,” Jazz quickly dashed to the computer.

“You better hope you can keep this one out of them Cons’ hands long enough to actually track you,” warned Alex.

“Yeah well, I don’t hear any Con coming anyway so I think we’re OK,” she sighed. “By the way I heard that they’ve got a new recruit.”

“What?! Who’d join up with them??” Sides cried out.

“Sides have a point; are you sure?” questioned Lepa.

“Oh yeah I’m pretty sure, Screamer said so himself after I burnt my hands,”

“You did what??”

“I’ll explain later,” Rox assured them. “Have you got my signal yet??”

“Almost!”

“Jazz says almost,” repeated Alex. “Tell us more about this new Con. Anything we should know about?”

“Well…”

“Well??”

“….I…”

“You what?! GET ON WITH IT!!” Lepa exploded.

“OK OK geez,” Rox mumbled. “OK truth is I don’t know anything about this new robot.”

“WHAT?!” everyone exclaimed as they fell over.

“THEN WHY DID YOU MAKE IT SOUND LIKE YOU DID?!” Lepa yelled through the phone, nearly breaking it in the process.

“OK ow! If I go deaf I’m suing you!” Rox exclaimed back. Alex palmed her face.

“Rox just stay on the line until Jazz can find you,” she sighed.

“Yeah I know…but I’d just watch your back OK?”

“Hey don’t worry Rox,” Sunny started, “we can handle anything them Cons can throw at us.”

“Yeah you just worry on trying to get out.” Sides concluded. Jazz then came back into the room as Prowl came out of the med bay with Ratchet.

“I got her co-ordinates we can go get them--Hey Prowl you’re out!” Jazz grinned happily. Prowl gave him a half smile as Ratchet shook his head.

Lepa giggled at his attention span as Alex took her phone. “OK we know where you are and we’ll be coming to save you now.”

“Well you better get here quick or I’m gonna die of boredo—Oh I hear someone coming! Gotta go BYE!” she said as the line disconnected.

Lepa flipped her phone shut as Bee asked where she was.

“In the middle of the desert,”

~*~*~*~*~

“Why am I riding you?? Shouldn’t we be on the road instead of above it?” Bee held on nervously as he looked over. It was a loooooong way down.

“Because I’m faster than you,” Lepa said curtly flapping her wings. Alex groaned.

“As much as I wanna save Maya and Rox, I’m not sure that I’m gonna survive this flight.” She complained slightly. Lepa flicked her ear irritably.

“Look, we wanna get there fast or what? The others aren’t far behind me they’ll catch up!”

“OK, OK, just calm down Lepa,” Alex started. “We all want them back too…” Lepa looked down.

“I know…” She suddenly cocked her head back. Their com links just received a call from the radio below.

“Yo guys, there’s major Decepticon activity back in the city!” Blaster’s voice rang through. “They just came and are just tearing stuff down and creating havoc!”

“What?! Now?!” Bee exclaimed. “We’re about to reach Rox’s signal!” Prowl’s voice came on.

“That’s why you three continue on while the rest of us race back,” he explained. “Is that clear?”

“Fine by us,” Alex answered while Bee and Lepa nodded. “You guys sure you can handle them without us?” she grinned.

“Hey now, we’ve been kicking Con skit plates longer than you!” Jazz exclaimed happily over the link. “No worries just go and get our buds back,” he ordered playfully.

“And be careful; we still don’t know much about this new recruit.” Prowl warned. Lepa snorted.

“Chill Princess we’ll be fine. We’ll see you bots later.” She signed off as their links turned off.

“Are we almost there yet?” Bee asked. Alex checked the tracker system that Rox has ‘borrowed’ from Wheeljack before.

“We’re in the area; land over behind those rocks Lepa,” she commanded. Lepa snorted and dove down to the spot.

“I said LAND not DIVE!” she screamed as both held on for dear life. Suddenly Lepa stopped in mid-air and landed softly, leaving her passengers quite daze. She snickered as she rolled them down her back and onto the floor.

“Come on we have to find them,” she replied, turning human in the process. Alex shook her head and glared at her.

“That was NOT funny! You nearly scared the slag outta us!” she stated angrily. Lepa shrugged it off as she went over to Bee.

“But I didn’t; so stop complaining and see if we can narrow down Rox’s location,” Lepa asked as she snapped her fingers. Bee, hearing it, shook his own head before looking around.

“What??” he asked dumbly. Lepa rolled her eyes.

“Just get up Bee we’re here,” Bee looked around as he got up.

“OK so where’s the base? All I see is miles of sand in one direction and a whole lot of rocks in another,” Alex walked a bit before looking up.

“Well according to this thing Rox should be somewhere inside past those rocks,” she explained, pointing the large boulders, “But I can’t seem to find a way inside them.”

Bee pulled out his blaster and aimed it at the giant rocks. “Leave that to me,” With a grin and a pull of the trigger, he blasted away at them, leaving a giant enough hole for them to walk inside.

Lepa smiled. “Nice job Bee.” She winked, going human, as Alex walked inside.

“Wow guys check it; there’s like a cavern leading downward in here,” Alex whispered in awe as she looked around. Bee and Lepa quickly came inside and stared about.

“Wow I didn’t know earth had such things,” Bee awed. Lepa looked at him funny.

“Hello? Your ship is stuck in something like this. Plus, I’ve been in a cave long enough thank you,” she grumbled. Bee sighed.

“True, but the ship doesn’t look like this; dark, cool, moist; I didn’t even know caves like these could be wet,” Bee exclaimed, bending over to touch the floor. Alex bent over as well.

“You’d be surprised; most caves usually hold some amount of moisture due to the lack of sunshine,” she explained.

“As much as you guys wanna ‘marvel’ at these sights, might I remind you why we’re here?” Lepa said irritably. They both looked at each other before getting up.

“Right.”

“Well I can’t pick much up now that we’re inside this cavern,” commented Alex as she looked at the tracker. “But she’s somewhere close by.”

Lepa looked ahead. Three tunnels led off deeper down below. “OK so here’s the plan; we’ll each take a tunnel and take a look around. Our com links should still work through these walls so we can still talk to each other. If we run into trouble, radio in to one of us. If it’s Rox you find call us and wait. Clear?”

Alex nodded. “As crystal. See you later!” she saluted before running down the first tunnel. Bee looked at her.

“You sure you’ll be OK?” he asked quietly. Lepa smiled a bit.

“I’ll be fine; worry about yourself OK?” she commanded softly. With a swift nod and a quick smile, Bee transformed and revved down the third tunnel, leaving Lepa by herself at the entrance. She sighed and looked at the last tunnel left.

“Looks like I’m taking Tunnel #2,” she whispered, walking towards the black passageway.

~*~*~*~*~

“Wow it’s getting dark in here,” Alex whispered to herself. “Least this tracker thing gives of light.” She had been going downward, winding around twisted paths and moved fallen rumble out of her way. But still no Rox or Maya anywhere. In fact, she didn’t even see a Decepticon either.

“I hope I didn’t make a mistake here,” she said nervously. No, no way she could have. She doubled-checked the readings and checked again. Rox’s signal was coming from in here, just not sure where.

“Roxanne, where the slag are you…?” she mumbled as she climbed over another rock. All of a sudden she felt something cool move beneath her hand. She froze as she turned towards her hand.

Underneath her palm lied a long, scaly, snake.

She screamed as it hissed and slithered up her arm. Alex grabbed its head, trying to keep it from biting. However it just hissed more, and soon it was joined by two more, which wrapped it selves around her, and brought her down. She struggled against them, but instead felt stabs on her leg and arm instead. At that point, she had enough of these ‘pets’.

“OK you know that?! I had enough of you scaly creeps!” she yelled. Using her psychic abilities she picked them all off her and tossed them into the wall. For the snakes could react, she tossed a boulder at them. They dodged but were hit with more stones. Done what they were to do, they slithered away, knowing well that their jobs were finished.

Alex panted as she watched then run off. “Yeah you better run! …I mean slither!” She planted herself down and let out a big sigh.

“Frag, that was freaky. Since when do snakes like that attack people like that?” she wondered out loud. She felt her arm, feeling moist and saw her leg was oozing a red liquid onto her fingers. “And when do they not bite so deep?”

“They do when they are for distracting flesh creature!” Before Alex could react, a metal blow made contact with her head, causing her to fall into the abyss of unconsciousness.

~*~*~*~*~

Bee cranked his audio receivers up. Wasn’t that Alex screaming? Man I hope she’s alright… Bee thought nervously. He knew spitting up was a bad idea. But then again, Rox was in here. And wouldn’t you do something dangerous to save a friend or two? Bee paced ahead carefully. Still no sign of Decepticons. Maybe he should radio in Alex, just to make sure she’s alright.

“Alex? Come in Alex. Alex, are you there?? …Alex come on this isn’t funny! ALEX!” Bee yelled through the com link.  OK that’s definitely not good…I better check in on Lepa,’ He thought quickly, calling her.

“Yeah Lepa here. You find anything Bee?” Bee let out a sigh of relief.

“Good you’re still OK,”

“OK?? Course I’m OK! Why are you?” she demanded quickly. Bee nodded.

“I’m fine, but I think Alex isn’t. I can’t get through to her,”

“WHAT?!” Bee winced a bit as she yelled. “Are you sure? Maybe you should try again,”

Bee shook his head again. “No she’s not picking up at all. Should we go check it out?” he asked, only to receive silence.

“Lepa??”

“Chillax Bee I’m still here just thinking…” she replied quickly, allowing him to relax a bit.

“Well it’s just rare for me to hear you speechless that’s all,” he grinned like a smart-aft.

“Oh ha-ha, aren’t we the funny bot?” she laughed sarcastically. Bee laughed, unaware of the thing creeping up behind him.

“Aw come on, I was just kidding; don’t take it seriously.” Closer it moved towards the unsuspecting bot.

“Ugh, Bee why did I end up with you?” Closer it creped to him.

“Because you love me,” Closer still.

“Ha ha; OK seriously, I think I got a plan.” So close that he was just in reach.

“Great! What is—hang on,” Bee gasped as he say a shadow bigger than him engulf his own.

“What the slag is tha—” Before he could turn, an electrical charge was smashed into his back. Bee howled as he felt the pain travel throughout his body. He heard Lepa call out for him through the com link but it was no use; he was out before he hit the floor.

~*~*~*~*~

“Bee?! Bee what happen?! ANSWER ME BEE!” Lepa screamed angrily through the link, shaking with fear for her comrades.

“Frag it…” she muttered after, turning off the link. First Alex, now Bee; the more she thought about it, the more she realized that this could just be a trap.

But I can’t turn back now I’ve already made it this far,’ she thought furiously. ‘and I can’t warp to them because it’s too small to go dragon; dammit! Why did I tell them to split up?!’ “Frag!” she growled, punching the wall. What else was there to do?

Lepa turned leopard and looked ahead determined. She had to continue on; there was no turning back now.

‘And if this was a trap, then I’ll make them wish they were never born,’

~*~*~*~*~

Lepa jumped over the boulder. Fifteen minutes of walking aimlessly and still nothing. She growled a bit.

‘How could there be nothing?? There must be something--someone here!’ She wondered as she sniffed the floor, hoping to pick up something. There must be a scent here there just had to—

She paused and sniffed again. Could this be it? A scent? But what was it? It defiantly couldn’t come from a Con but certainly did not come from this cave. She followed the scent, knowing that it was familiar.

“What is that smell?? I know it, but I can’t quite put my paw on it…” she wondered out loud. Suddenly she gasped. It wasn’t just any scent; it was Maya’s. She bolted ahead, following it. If Maya was here, then maybe she knew where Rox was.

‘Or maybe she’s hurt and need help,’ Lepa thought worriedly, dashing over rocks and climbing onto ledges.

Soon she arrived to what looked like the bottom of a wide ravine. Panting she transformed back in a human.

“Maya are you here??” Lepa cried out. “Answer me girl!” She listened carefully, straining her ears, trying to pick up any sound.

Through the quiet stillness of the dark ravine, her ears picked up a very faint moan.

Lepa, frightened and overjoyed, ran. “Maya please; answer me! I’m almost to you!” The groans continued as she got closer and closer.

Yet, the closer she got, the darker it got as well. Soon it was so black that Lepa couldn’t see past one foot of her, even as a leopard. The darkness was bewitching, but she continued. Maya just felt so close now.

“Maya I can hear you but I can’t see you!” Lepa cried out once again into the darkness. “Where are you?!” No sooner had those words left her mouth did she slip. Lepa gasped as she realized that she had slipped down a deep ravine.

She turned human and went into a tuck-and-roll pose as she fell down. Lepa fell onto many ledges, ever protecting her head. Finally, with one last crash, she landed at the bottom. Groaning, Lepa got up slowly. She tasted a bit of blood from the corner of her mouth. Every part of her body ached with pain. Looking around, she strained herself to see where she was. All of a sudden, she halted at the sight of someone lying on the floor.

It was Maya.

“Maya?!” Lepa gasped out. Struggling, she made her way over to her. As she got closer she could see that Maya wasn’t suffering from any visible injury. None the less, Lepa pushed that out of her head as she began trying to wake her up.

“OK girl, time to wake up now,” she whispered as she began shaking her. “Come on Maya, please wake up now.” She asked nervously.

“Mrph…do I have to? It hurts to move,” Lepa sighed with relief. She was still conscience, still here.

“Yeah, you do girl. Now come on, sit up straight. Nice and easy,” she helped Maya to do that as Maya coughed and cringed. Lepa did a quick over look of her. Maya now had some cuts and bruises but still nothing serious. Yet she didn’t look…right.

“You don’t so good you know,” Lepa stated curtly. Maya gave her a half smile.

“You don’t look too hot yourself either. What happened, you fall down a cliff?” Lepa looked at herself more carefully. She had gained a large gash across her forearm as well as had a nasty bruise on her calf as well as her own fair share of cuts and bruises.

“Yeah well, you’d be surprised.” She said in her smart-aft voice as she got up. “Come on, we got to get out of here and find Alex and Bee. We split to find Rox inside here after following her signal but something’s happened to them.” She stated as Maya got up. “I’m worried about them.”

“Oh they’re fine,” Maya replied, giggling softly. Confused, Lepa turned towards her.

“What do you mean?” she asked carefully. Maya giggled still, rocking slightly on her heels.

“They are fine. Well. OK. All right. You don’t have to worry. Oh, and by the way,” she started, holding up a cell phone, “Rox has more than one phone remember??” she reminded her, still chuckling like a maniac.

Lepa took a step towards the laughing girl, confused. That laugh…it didn’t fit her right. Maya’s laugh was more…innocent, that the one she was hearing right now. “Maya, where did you get that?” she demanded softly.

The girl just continued to giggle and rocked about. “You were never tracking her it was me all along; I took one of her phone off her; aren’t I clever?” she asked incredulously and laughed more.

Lepa, bewildered, came closer towards her. “Maya, are you feeling OK?” She asked again. Maya just nodded before falling over.

“Whoa OK Maya,” Lepa exclaimed, holding her up. “Maya what the slag is wrong?!” she yelled, shaking her a bit.

Maya just ignored her. She just stopped and looked down. Perplexed, Lepa sat her down and lifted her head. Her face was motionless; like she was a statue.

“Maya?” she asked again, beginning to feel more dread in her. Then, her face twisted into a malevolent grin.

“Everything. For you.” Before Lepa could react, a blast of power was punched into her stomach, causing an electric charge to course through her body.

Paralyzed, Lepa fell to the floor with a thud. Pain went throughout her as she struggled against unconsciousness. She heard someone laugh, and began to think it was Maya. But the voice sounded too dark; too evil to be hers; it was unrecognizable. Yet it was the only person Lepa could think of.

“And this is how you capture three prisoners with all the fun boys.”

“I had doubts but that was fun!” Frenzy’s voice echoed after.

“Huh. That was pretty easy.” Rumble stated, a bit surprised.

“This was just one part; let’s take the overgrown lizard back to Thundercracker and then join in on some real fun.”

As she was dragged away and the darkness took her in, Lepa couldn’t help but wonder;

Did Maya betray them?
